Representative Experience

  • Won summary judgment on a declaratory judgment action for an architecture firm in a multi-party lawsuit involving the development of commercial condominiums. The summary judgment barred claimants who lacked contractual privity with the architect from asserting arbitration claims.
  • Successfully defended arbitration claims against an engineering design firm on an Aircraft Maintenance Operations Complex Project, resulting in the engineering firm receiving a substantial payment and being asked to complete the design work for the Project.
  • Obtained non-suit of claims against a structural engineering firm based on Texas Certificate of Merit Statute, which resulted in a favorable settlement amounting to less than the cost of defense.
  • Achieved favorable resolution of a premises liability personal injury claim against an architectural firm; aggressive defense strategies resulted in a settlement of less than $10,000 where the initial demand exceeded $100,000.
  • Overturned a default judgment against a client for an amount exceeding $150,000.
  • Obtained multiple jury verdicts where amount awarded Plaintiff was significantly less than Plaintiff's final pre-trial demand.
