Mandi Akens: 2012 Rising Star

Each year, a select group of Texas attorneys are recognized by their peers and selected to the prestigious list of Rising Stars. Overall, only 2.5 percent of eligible Texas attorneys received the Rising Stars honor.  Texas Rising Stars selections are based on peer nominations and are limited to those lawyers who are 40 years old or younger, or who have been practicing law for fewer than 10 years.

Candidates are nominated through a state-wide survey and undergo a rigorous selection process of 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement, including: verdicts, settlements; transactions; representative clients; experience; honors and awards; special licenses and certifications; position within law firm, bar or other professional activity; pro bono and community service; scholarly lectures and writings; education and employment background; and other outstanding achievements.
