Clayton Devin and Jason Jung Secure Defense Verdict in Barnett Shale Dispute

Clayton Devin and Jason Jung secured a defense verdict in Parker County, Texas for a publicly-traded oilfield service company in a dispute with the owner/operator of a Barnett Shale Field saltwater injection well. The plaintiff claimed that the oilfield service company breached the parties’ contract, resulting in a failed workover of the well, and permanent loss of the well bore. The plaintiff claimed that the well generated over $100,000 per month in net profits, and asked the jury for damages exceeding $7,700,000.

When the case could not be completed by the close of business on Friday, the jury opted to continue working on Saturday, returning a take-nothing verdict after less than an hour of deliberations.n the case could not be completed by the close of business on Friday, the jury opted to continue working on Saturday, returning a take-nothing verdict after less than an hour of deliberations.
