Michael James is an experienced attorney and a native Texan who strives to provide effective legal resolutions and sensible advice to his clients.

Overview

Michael is an experienced attorney, law professor, and public speaker. Michael joined the firm after serving as an Assistant Chief Counsel for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, where he represented the United States government in judicial proceedings before various federal courts. He also provided legal counsel to Department personnel regarding applicable law enforcement authorities and related regulatory frameworks. His past legal experience also includes service as an attorney for local and federal government agencies, in-house counsel for a large consumer receivables company, and Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Damon J. Keith, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. In addition to his practice experience, Michael spent a number of years teaching law to undergraduates and law students. 

Michael graduated cum laude from Prairie View A&M University with a degree in psychology and earned his J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law. He subsequently earned his LL.M. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
