Overview

Over the past 28 years Oliver has tried cases throughout the State of Texas before juries which involved millions of dollars in damages.  Oliver is licensed in all State and Federal Courts in Texas, Oklahoma and Illinois.  Matters regularly handled by Oliver involve catastrophic injuries from transportation, commercial vehicles, oil field service4s, school buses, watercraft of all types and premises liability claims against property owners and management groups.

Representative Experience
  • Handled a commercial vehicle case for a lumber company and was the first jury trial at the new Rockwall County Court House.  Plaintiff’s demand prior to trial was $15.5mm dollars.  Plaintiff was an injured Gastroenterologist who claimed permanent disability.  After a week long jury trial the jury returned a $24,000 verdict.
  • Handled fatality claim involving a product defect caused by a shipping company and improper reinstalment of a drive line on a commercial truck.  Case settled below adjusters valuation.
  • Lead counsel for an impaired commercial vehicle driver who ran a red light.  Case settled below adjuster valuation.
  • Represented trucking company in a paraplegia case involving a 6 year old plaintiff.  Case was resolved at trial below adjuster’s valuation.
  • Represented a commercial vehicle driver and his company in a double plaintiff lumbar fusion case in San Antonio, Texas.  After a two week long jury trial the two plaintiffs were awarded $12,500 and $11,500 despite the fact they had incurred medical bills of over $1.5mm.
  • Represented a apartment complex owner in the fatal shooting of a 20 year old resident of the complex.  Plaintiff’s alleged improper lighting and failure to secure the premises adequately in Harris County.  Claim was resolved within the primary layers coverage.
