The transportation defense team of Jennifer Cheek and Read Riley obtained summary judgment in a wrongful death case pending in Ector County, Texas on October 2, 2024. Jennifer and Read represented a commercial motor carrier and driver sued for the wrongful death of a man killed in an accident on I-20. The team developed evidence through fact witness and retained experts to show that our clients—the only defendants in the lawsuit—were not at fault for the unfortunate accident. The Court agreed that the evidence presented conclusively established that the sole cause of the accident was the deceased driver’s operation of his vehicle. Jennifer and Read were supported by Frank Sanceri and Courtney Reed.
