Congratulations to Patrick Madden, Steve Baggett, and Sandra Horne on a recent significant victory in a Dallas County District Court! The plaintiffs filed a lawsuit against our client for claims arising from an accident that occurred in a suburb of Denver, Colorado. The plaintiffs allege that they sustained very serious personal injuries caused by the accident. Colorado has personal injury damage caps, so the plaintiffs chose to file suit in Dallas County, Texas. While our client has business in Texas, we were able to show that it was not enough to confer general jurisdiction. In May 2025, a Dallas County District Court Judge dismissed plaintiffs’ claims against our client for lack of personal jurisdiction.
